Taughannock Falls

Taughannock Falls has a 215 foot plunge. Theories differ on how the falls got its name, some say its the combination of Iroquois and Algonquin terms meaning "Great fall in the woods".....others say its named after the Lenni Lenape chief, Taughannock who died near the falls during a battle.
