Patina Studebaker

Description

I had passed this abandoned car for decades now, always seeing and wondering what it was. I finally remembered to bring my camera and snap some photos, and good thing I did, because the car was recently moved, and most likely sold.

I know its a Studebaker, and I believe to be either 1950 or 1951 Studebaker Commander. Studebaker began operations in 1852 producing world class wagons, which helped the Civil War effort, and in 1906 built their first gas powered vehicle, until ultimately the company went bankrupt in 1966 after failing to compete with other big car brands. In addition to the rich history of the company, they were the first independent automaker to produce the overhead-valve V8.
