Elfreth's Alley, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Built in 1702, Elfreth's alley is the countrys oldest residential street, having had residents since being built! The street is named after Jeremiah Elfreth, a blacksmith in the 18th centruy who was a prominent land owner as well as blacksmith. In 1934, the Elfreth's Alley Association was formed to preserve the alley's historic structures and the streets history.
