The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area stretch 70,000 acres in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, inching right up to the New York State Line.

The Park has Native American archeological sites and a number of remaining structures from Dutch settlers in the colonial period. The region of the park and surrounding was a frontier of the French & Indian War.
